Title: Beyond the Basic Centra Session: Incorporating Guest Speakers & Active Learning in Centra
Description: A complete "How To" on using Centra to involve a guest speaker(i.e. an Extension Specialist)during a live meeting as well as how to incorporate active learning elements in your Centra sessions. The training includes:
- how to setup the meeting room - including tips learned by other agents about connecting your notebook, projector, speakers, microphone, and camera
- how to create a Centra event
- how to import items into Agenda Builder
- how to lead an event
- how to encourage interaction and participation by using the tools available in Centra (e.g. whiteboard, web safari, ap share)
In a F2F environment, attendees are divided into groups and work on a event from start to finish (one person acts as the event leader). This provides an opportunity for attendees to get a better understanding of how Centra is used from creation to delivery of an event. Attendees also get "hands on" practice with creating and leading events. In a Centra environment, "hands on" practice would be done via the Application Share (AppShare) tool in Centra. Attendees would still have an opportunity to practice using these tools, but in a more limited scope.
Delivery method: Could be Instructor Lead or via Centra
Estimate workshop time: F2F- 6 hours (to allow for hands on and practice), Centra - 1.5 hours sessions (series of 3)
Target Audience: The primary audience is Extension Agents. A secondardy audience would be Specialists.
Minimum number of participants: 6 for instructor lead, 4 for Centra
Maximum number of participants: 20 for instructor lead, 12 for Centra
