Inserting Movie files into Power Point Exercise

To insert a movie file
1. Start PowerPoint
- Start > All Programs >Microsoft Office > Powerpoint
2. Open a PowerPoint you want to work with, or just use a blank one
- Go to (or create) a slide to insert your movie
3. Right Click, choose Slide Layout and change it to Title, Text, Content
- This layout will allow us to put some text on the slide with the Movie – More interesting this way!
4. Click Insert > Movies and Sounds > Movie from File
- Locate your Photo Story or other movie file, click OK
5. Choose how to start the Playback
- Automatically to have the movie start when go to that slide (usually the best option)
- When Clicked will start it playing only when you click After going to the slide
6. Use your mouse to put the movie into the Content part of the Slide Layout and adjust the size
7. Add three bullets about this movie you have added.
8. Save the Power Point file
9. Play the slide
To Play Movie across multiple slides:
1. On the slide that contains the movie, right click and choose custom animation, then effect and set it to stop playing after 2 or 3 slides.
2. Save the Power Point file as a new version. For example, Movie_1.1.
3. Play your slide show
Tips:
You can put text around the playback window (you can also make the text change via timings)
You can put more than one Photo Story per slide show
You can combine Photo Story movies with other movie files in the same Power Point
