NETC 2006 Abstract
Title: Web-based Conferencing and Collaboration using Centra Symposium Panel Discussion
Successful web-based conferencing and collaboration requires several important elements including a mature technology that is both robust and easy-to-use. Potential uses include meetings, demonstrations, and training sessions. Dynamic voting, application sharing and other facilitation tools enrich the experiences of the users. Possible pitfalls include organizational culture, presenters who lack an understanding of their target audience, and slow adoption of the technology. Representatives from five Southern Region states will address a collaborative effort to share the use of a single Centra Symposium server, along with lessons learned and experiences gained through the use of this e-conferencing and collaboration solution.
